The National TVET Commission chairs the first Steering Committee meeting for the Paths to Employment Project (PEP)

Dr. Ziad Jweiles, President of National TVET Commission, opened the first Steering Committee meeting for the Paths to Employment Project (PEP), in the presence of Ms. Christelle Jocqout, representative of the Belgian Development Agency Enabel, Engineer Rasem Sawan, Project Director at the Belgian Development Agency, Dr. Basri Saleh, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Engineer Samer Musa, Director General of Technical Education, Dr. Nafie Asaf, Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Jamal Jawabra, General Manager of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, and Mr. Mohammad Tahboub, Advisor to the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment. The meeting discussed the main axes targeted by the Belgian Development Agency Enabel during the period from 2022 to 2026, as well as the outputs of all components of the Paths to Employment Project (PEP). At the end of the meeting, agreement was reached on the next steps and the initiation of work on implementing activities related to the project. Representing the Belgian Development Agency from Gaza through Zoom were Ms. Hanin Abu Nahla, Mr. Ahmad Ghannam, and Ms. Saidah Sh'eibat, while Mr. Imad Salem, Engineer Wathiq Hethnawi, and Engineer Mohammad Mu'min Jawa'dah attended from the Commission's staff.

Meeting of the President of the National TVET Commission with a representative of the International Labor Organization in Palestine

Dr. Ziad Jweiles, President National TVET Commission, met with Ms. Fareedah Khan, a representative of the International Labor Organization in Palestine. Dr. Jweiles welcomed Ms. Fareedah Khan and wished her success in her new role. He briefed her on the situation of the TVET sector in Palestine and the role of the Commission as a unified national umbrella for the sector, established by decree law no.4. Ms. Fareedah Khan expressed her readiness to cooperate with the Commission to serve the sector and enhance it, which in turn will reflect on employment and reducing unemployment in society. In the end, the two parties agreed to continue cooperation, as the International Labor Organization serves as a technical advisor to the National Commission in the special sectoral group for TVET in Palestine. Ms. Rasha AL-Shurafa, Program Officer at the International Labor Organization's office in Jerusalem, attended the meeting.

President of the Commission meets a delegation from the Canadian Representative Office Ramallah

Dr. Ziad Jweiles, President of the National TVET Commission, received today a delegation from the Canadian Representative Office in Palestine, headed by the First Secretary for Sustainable Economic Development in the Canadian Representation, Mr. Charles Sar. The meeting aimed to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two sides to support the vocational and technical education and training sector, in order to enhance the role and work of the Commission. Dr. Jweiles presented to the delegation an overview of the establishment, objectives, vision, and achievements of the Commission, as well as the programs and projects it is working on to support vocational and technical education and training in Palestine. He expressed the Commission's readiness to fully cooperate with the Palestinian society and its various sectors, as well as with all embassies, representations, and international institutions. Attending the meeting from the Canadian Representation was Ms. Soula Quraytam, Senior Officer for International Assistance, and from the Commission, Dr. Lily Feidy, Advisor to the President of the Commission for International Relations, and Odai Qabajeh, Director of the President's Office.
