The President of the Commission receives a delegation from the Belgian Development Agency

The President of the National TVET Commission, Dr. Ziad Jweiles, received in his office today the Director of Skills Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Projects at the Belgian Development Agency "ENABEL," Ms. Emelie De Keyzer, and the Project Manager for Skills Development at the Agency, Mr. Rasem Suwan. The meeting discussed the development of capacities in the vocational and technical education sector in Palestine, as the government relies on it to achieve sustainable development goals and reduce high unemployment rates, especially among graduates. The Commission is ready to cooperate with all parties, whether international or local, to implement its projects and programs in service of this vital and important sector, and to increase the number of participants in vocational education. Dr. Jweiles confirmed the Commission's full readiness for joint cooperation in developing the capabilities of vocational education and training graduates and integrating them into the job market by enhancing their efficiency, providing them with necessary skills and tools, and developing the sector.

Jweiles meets with the Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

Dr. Ziad Jweiles, the President of the National TVET Commission, received today in his office in Ramallah, on Tuesday, the Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) mission in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Ms. Amy Tohill-Stull, along with the Democracy Program Officer, Ms. Rachel Aiker, and the Development Program Officer, Mr. Bassam Qurt. Dr. Jweiles provided a detailed explanation about the establishment of the commission, its projects, achievements, programs, and its working circles, based on the decree law no.4 of 2021 establishing it, and discussed the commission's plans for the development of the vocational and technical education sector in Palestine. Dr. Jweiles emphasized that the commission is working with relevant ministries to provide advanced vocational and technical education for the Palestinian people, contributing to job opportunities and reducing unemployment rates. Ms. Tohill-Stull confirmed the agency's readiness to cooperate with the commission in the vocational and technical education programs, through the projects presented by the agency, in line with the plans and projects of the commission. The meeting was attended by Firas Tannina, the Advisor to the President of the Commission for Communication and Media Affairs, Odai Qabajeh, the Director of the President's Office at the Commission, and Miss Dana Sabah the projects officer.

Opening of the Second Workshop on Professional Standards for Developing the Capabilities of Workers in the Vocational and Technical Education Sector

Dr. Ziad Jweiles, the President of the National TVET Commission, opened on Tuesday the second consultative workshop with trainers in labor market institutions, factories, and production workshops, which comes within the framework of the unified system's efforts to develop human resources, in cooperation with the German Cooperation Foundation GIZ. Dr. Jweiles praised the significant role and important partnership with labor market institutions led by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the country. The workshop focused on the educational policies pursued by the National Commission to consolidate the concept of learning in workplaces, which enhances the participation of employers and managers of labor market institutions in promoting vocational training and education, and enhances job opportunities and bridges the gap between labor market requirements and the skills trained in vocational and technical education and training institutions. The workshop was conducted by trainer Luay Qabajeh, the manager of Granada Consulting and Training Company.
