NTC President Dr. “Ziad Jweiles”, is a guest on a program with Palestine TV and Voice of Palestine, talking about the NTC, its scope of work, and the importance of TVET. 

The President of the National TVET Commission, Dr. Ziad Jweiles, affirmed today, Wednesday, that the government seeks to provide job opportunities, increase national income, and improve the standard of living. Therefore, it sought to establish the National TVET Commission decree Law No. 4 of 2021. Dr. Jweiles' affirmations came in a speech on behalf of the Prime Minister's Office at the Palestinian Youth Skills Day celebration, organized by the Efforts Association for Community and Rural Development and the National TVET Commission, funded by the European Union at the Carmel Hotel in Ramallah. Dr. Jweiles added: The government's firm belief in vocational and technical education led it to establish the National TVET Commission, tasked with overseeing the skills portfolio at all professional levels, especially 21st-century skills, artificial intelligence, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and other life skills. The government also established the first vocational specialized university in Palestine to serve as the national incubator for vocational training. Dr. Jweiles further stated: The government recognizes the importance of skills development and vocational education and training to enable youth to participate in the local and global job markets. Therefore, it established the National TVET Commission and Nablus Technical University. Dr. Jweiles continued: Today we celebrate Palestinian Youth Skills Day at a time when the world celebrates International Youth Skills Day on the 15th of July each year, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution issued in 2014. Dr. Jweiles emphasized that this day is being celebrated for the first time in Palestine, and the Palestinian government encourages and supports this day not only as a celebration but also to highlight the importance of skills in youth's lives, especially in what is classified as the era of skills. Dr. Jweiles affirmed that in line with the objectives of International Youth Skills Day, the government and its local partners from civil society and the private sector are looking forward to building a strong system for youth skills by opening a professional dialogue between policymakers, service providers, and beneficiaries to ensure the provision of the best services that align with the needs of the Palestinian labor market.

The President of the National TVET Commission, Dr. Ziad Jweiles, received today the ministers who are members of the Board of Directors of the Commission, consisting of the Vice President of the Board and Minister of Labor Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Mo'is, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Marwan Awartani, Minister of Education, Dr. Estephan Salameh, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Planning and Coordination of Aid. The meeting focused on the responsibilities and tasks of the National TVET Commission, its development, and the implementation of projects and programs carried out by the Commission in cooperation with relevant ministries and the civil and private sectors to serve the vocational and technical education and training sector and align it with international programs and projects.
