Morrar: Advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training Is a National Priority and a Key Driver of Youth Empowerment
Ramallah – 11 August 2026 – Dr. Rabah Morrar, President of the National Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, affirmed that advancing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system is a national priority and a key driver of economic and social empowerment. He stressed the importance of strengthening its position as a major pathway for education, skills development, and transition into the labor market.
Speaking on Palestine This Morning on Palestine TV, Dr. Morrar explained that developing the TVET system requires aligning programs and specializations with labor market needs and the priorities of economic sectors, while strengthening future-oriented skills to create better opportunities for young people in employment, productivity, and entrepreneurship.
He also highlighted the role of the National Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, under the guidance of Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, in leading and coordinating efforts to develop the TVET system, strengthen its governance, and build partnerships with government institutions, the private sector, and international partners. He emphasized that investing in skills is an investment in young people and in the future of the Palestinian economy.
Dr. Morrar further stressed that Technical and Vocational Education and Training represents an important tool for strengthening resilience and responding to economic and social challenges by transforming young people’s skills into real opportunities that contribute to development and to building a more adaptable and growth-oriented Palestinian economy.
